Hi guys! If you haven’t noticed, there are slight changes to my theme. I spent the last few days searching and debating whether or not I wanted to change my whole theme, but there just weren’t any that I liked and I don’t have the patience to create one. So, behold! Subtle changes and updates. I like this better than how it was before, this purple is way nicer and I am in LOVEEE with my new logo.
You may also have noticed that there is no longer a cBox. I decided to remove it because I feel more people comment on blog posts and stuff via the cBox. It’s not right to do that, that’s why there is a comment section on the post. If you need to contact me for any reason that’s not related to blog posts, you can use the contact form. It’s checked every day, multiple times a day. There are also links for affiliates and advertising which can be found on the sidebar.
Hi everyone! Guess what, it’s that time of the year again- Anniversary! This is going to be a quick post because I wasn’t prepared for it. I got an email saying godaddy auto-renewed my domain and I was like ‘wow it’s already here?’. Yes. 5 whole years of ayevanity.com. I’m not gonna lie, I thought it’d be more popular than it is but I’m happy nonetheless. I’ve seen a lot of sites come and go so I think I’m amazed I’ve stayed so long. Anyway, Happy Anniversary, guys! <3
Hey guys! First off, I’d like to thank you all for the wonderful Birthday wishes! <3 If you’re wondering what I’m talking about, ayevanity.com turned 3 back in June (which also unfortunately was the last time I posted anything). Also, I have news!
I can’t wait for Fall at the end of this month. I can feel it, the air, the smells, everything. It’s getting to be my favorite time of the year and I just can’t wait. Besides, I am so done with all this Summer bullshit. :P It’s way too hot in California and I can’t really deal well with it.
Anyway, I wanted to update you guys on my life and why I have been kinda MIA. Don’t worry, I haven’t gone anywhere, in fact, I’ve been working on something great, but I’ll get to that later. So, on August 1st, the day I officially started my new job as a full time photographer at a portrait studio I was in a car accident. I was literally on my way to work when I was rear ended, the car was totaled and I left with pretty bad injuries (that I am still seeing a doctor for 3 times a week). I am lucky that nothing is broken though.
My big news is still kinda a secret. I will tell you it has to do with something for you!
First of all, I’d really like to apologize for basically being gone for over a month. I’ve been going through an incredibly lazy two months where I’ve done nothing but work and play video games. Seriously, anything that sounds like productivity is out of the question.. My room is a mess and I need to do laundry insanely bad. I promise I am going to get off that nonproductive bandwagon and hop back into routine. I guess what I needed was just a break. Blah.
Anywhooo, I started with a photoshoot today with my best friend, Erin. (Above) I’m really trying to widen my horizons and not do so many head shots. I’m trying to get into maybe some fashion shoots and stuff like that. I just want to fully develop my style if you know what I mean. After processing is the easy part, it’s just the shooting that’s being unreasonably difficult lately. I haven’t been shooting lately either (6+ months) so that could have something to do with it. I’m rusty, that’s it.
If you haven’t noticed, it’s been THREE WHOLE YEARS since ayevanity.com has been up. Happy Birthday to AV.COM! It’s been 3 wonderful years with my amazing friends here, and I’m looking forward to the many more to come. Because let’s face it, I’m not going anywhere. I’ve worked too hard and learned too much to let this beautiful site go to waste. <3
(Sorry about my ugly nails, pretend you don’t see those)
Hey guys! Today I went to Target and decided to try a new mascara since the same one I always get was getting kinda. You know, old. I had seen those Rimmel London commercials for their Scandal Eyes Mascara and I thought I’d try it out. Boy was I surprised.
Rimmel mascara is HUGE!
The Rimmel mascara is really big. Bigger than the Covergirl Lash Blast even. I know. I didn’t think mascaras could get much bigger, but damn. It’s ginormous. Anyway, I really like this mascara as an everyday use. It’s a real one-coat winner.
Before & after, obviously. (with flash)
The mascara itself is designed to be photographed so it’s supposed to be super volumizing. I guess it works. I like that the wand is huge and gets every lash. One coat and you’re done. However, I don’t really suggest using this mascara on your bottom lashes. Since the wand is so big it can get all over the place and no body wants that.
Side by side comparison of mascara wands
Overall I’d give it 7/10 and that I will probably buy this again. Would I recommend? Sure! For anyone looking for a super black mascara with the advantage of a great wand, seriously the wand is amazing, then by all means, you should definitely get the London Look.
With eyeliner and good lighting. Oh and look guys, I finally figured out how to do eyebrows. :-P
